Efdemin
New Atlantis
By streamdream
Four albums deep and Efdemin has taken up a full-time residency in the reductionist zone. His approach has become increasingly focused on how far he can take the idea of reducing the elements of the music he makes. Bar making totally ambient productions, or perhaps making nothing at all, he’s edging closer to that goal. With New Atlantis Efdemin really indulges himself in this reductionist approach. Across eight tracks we get to enjoy him removing any unnecessary layers and immersing us in his world. It’s still dance floor-orientated, but less forceful. The opener ‘Oh, Lovely Appearance Of Death’ is very special indeed.
